چکیده

This paper provides a solution to guidance of multiple unmanned aerial vehicles that carry sensors for locating a detected emitter of radio frequency signals. Guidance in this paper refers to updating the state of each vehicle to the most desirable position and velocity, reachable within a given time for the location purpose. The vehicles can then be guided to the updated sensor states for further target data acquisition and processing. This process continues until the target is located within a specified accuracy. Both the guidance criterion and the vehicle state update procedure take the probability of vehicle loss into consideration. Vehicle state update is formulated and solved as an optimization problem. The enhanced location performance under the optimized guidance, and the sensor system tolerance to vehicle loss are shown for a foursensor system through simulations.

Radar Emitter Localization Using TDOA

This paper presents passive radar emitter localization using the Time-Difference-Of-Arrival (TDOA) technique from Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) working in conjunction with a fixed/mobile station (such as a shipborne/land-based station) to geolocate a radar emitter to fulfill maritime and littoral area surveillance. Instead of using multiple stationary sensors, multiple TDOA measurements are o...

A Hybrid Algorithm based on Deep Learning and Restricted Boltzmann Machine for Car Semantic Segmentation from Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs)-based Thermal Infrared Images

Nowadays, ground vehicle monitoring (GVM) is one of the areas of application in the intelligent traffic control system using image processing methods. In this context, the use of unmanned aerial vehicles based on thermal infrared (UAV-TIR) images is one of the optimal options for GVM due to the suitable spatial resolution, cost-effective and low volume of images. The methods that have been prop...

Fuzzy Adaptive Control of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle for Carrying Time-Varying Cargo on Predefined Path

At present, the use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) has been increased dramatically. The reasons for this development are cheapness, smallness, simplicity, and diversity of missions. The simplicity of guidance and control of multi-rotor drones is that they are equipped with an autopilot system. This system is responsible for flying control. UAVs do not have a high weight and often have three...

Unmanned aerial vehicle field sampling and antenna pattern reconstruction using Bayesian compressed sensing

Antenna 3D pattern measurement can be a tedious and time consuming task even for antennas with manageable sizes inside anechoic chambers. Performing onsite measurements by scanning the whole 4π [sr] solid angle around the antenna under test (AUT) is more complicated. In this paper, with the aim of minimum duration of flight, a test scenario using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) is proposed. A pr...

UAV Search : Maximising Target Acquisition

This paper is an academic experience report describing analysis of optimal control techniques for simulated quad-rotor unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) performing search and rescue missions. Analysis of the controller and guidance laws governing the UAV are described in detail culminating in a closed form expression describing the probability of detection over a certain field.
